The Grover Cleveland dollars have arrived with a bang. It would appear that suspending the striking of dollar coins for circulation has been a winner for the Mint in selling additional quantities of the coins.
Just as is the case for Chester Arthur, there is the odd preference among buyers of $250 coin boxes for the Philadelphia issue.
More than three and a half times as many have been sold.
The 2012 uncirculated coin set goes on the page for the first time with 164,459 sold.
The 2012 proof silver Eagle couldn’t quite make it to 400,000 this week. It rose by 13,733 coins to 395,458.
That lonely 2011 four-coin gold American Eagle proof set sales option trudged ahead by 9 to 18,162.
Once again, the Defenders of Freedom Set numbers went backwards, falling 408 to 43,286. That makes three weeks in a row in a negative direction.
