Boy Scout proofs have 1,023 to go, so next week might just finally have the news of the now long-awaited sellout.
The 2009 proof and uncirculated sets are going off sale between this issue and the next one. It is hard to believe that collectors took up fewer than 800,000 uncirculated coin sets with the four Lincoln cent designs from two mints. Remember, these are 95 percent copper coins. Yellowstone quarter rolls and bags went on the boards. Hot Springs ended at 7,509 “P” bags and 6,914 “D” bags. Two-roll sets tallied 35,864. Once again the new issue sales totals start out close to two-thirds of the prior one.
