The Florence Harding First Spouse half-ounce gold coins, both uncirculated and proof, went on sale July 10. Buyers bought 574 of the uncirculated coin and 907 of the proof coin in the first few days of sales, which is not a bad result.
Another new addition to the catalog was the Herbert Hoover First Day coin cover. In the first week, 9,085 covers were sold.
Buyers reacted to the July 9 announcement lifting the order limit on the Hall of Fame baseball half dollars. Another 17,070 of the uncirculated and 3,402 of the proof halves were sold. The average weekly sales during the five weeks before was 2,221 for the uncirculated and 3,540 for the proof.
Bullion gold Eagle sales are accelerating. The Mint sold an additional 12,500 one-ounce, 4,000 quarter-ounce and 15,000 tenth-ounce coins. Sales stand at 20,500, 4,000 and 20,000, respectively.
Going off sale was the 2013 proof set, which had sold 802,328 units.
