Eagle numbers still moving at month end

Silver American Eagle bullion coins ended September at a monthly sales level of 1,703,000, up 100,000 coins.

Silver American Eagle bullion coins ended September at a monthly sales level of 1,703,000, up 100,000 coins. In the first few days of October the number sold was 257,000 coins. The October box will be placed next week in light of the changes still occurring for September.

For gold American Eagles, the month ended at a sales level of 115,500 coins, up 9,000 from last week’s report. October opened at what seems like a low figure of 15,500 pieces.

The Ultra High Relief Saint-Gaudens gold $20 remains under 100,000 as this week’s sales total stands at 97,447.

An additional 10,630 Lincoln proof sets were sold, bringing the running tally to 138,289. The two-roll Professional Life set increased by 5,469 to 232,031.

For those who have an interest in the traditional proof sets, this week’s numbers moved along at a moderate pace of 27,856 clad sets and 14,352 silver sets.

Not much can be said about the First Spouse sales except that the Van Buren designs moved through two round numbers. The proof version saw sales rise by 43, but that was enough to break the 7,000 mark. Sales now stand at 7,013. For the uncirculated piece, sales rose by 25, bringing the running total to 4,001.

It is going to be a busy end of the year for this page as Buffalo coins, proof platinum Eagles and fractional gold Eagles go on sale in their turn. For these, sales numbers will be avidly followed.
