Mint Director Ed Moy joined Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal Sept. 14 in a special launch ceremony for the bucking bronco state quarter at the Cheyenne Civic Center.

Free Wyoming quarters were given to children by the Mint Director.

Joining them were other dignitaries, including U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi and William Bradford Ross III, grandson of Nellie Tayloe Ross, the first woman governor of Wyoming, 1925-1927, and first woman to head the Mint, 1933-1953.

Children under 18 were given free examples of the new quarter, the 44th design in the 50-coin series. Adults were given the opportunity to buy $10 rolls of the new coins.
