Heritage?s Long Beach Expo auctions total more than 17,500 lots, including a 5,600-lot floor Signature Sale of U.S. coins, an additional 3,600 U.S. coin lots offered online, 1,200 tokens and medals, as well as separate Signature Sales of paper money and world coins.
The 1792 half disme, Judd 7, Pollock 7, this one graded XF-40 by Professional Coin Grading Service, was struck prior to a U.S. Mint building being completed. ?Although still recorded as a pattern issue in current references, most numismatists now consider the 1792 half disme to be a regular issue coin,? Heritage sale catalogers wrote.
Other notable consignments from Part 1 of the Troy Wiseman collection include a 1793 Chain cent, PCGS AU-53; an 1864 small motto two-cent piece, PCGS Proof-65 Brown; an 1867 Shield nickel with rays, PCGS Proof-65 Cameo; a 1796 half dollar, 16 stars, PCGS VF-30; a 1794 Flowing Hair dollar, PCGS XF-45; an 1808 gold $2.50, PCGS VF-35; and a 1795 gold $10, 13 leaves, PCGS VF-30.
A separate catalog has been produced for Wiseman?s U.S. tokens (including his Hard Times collection).
Heritage?s ancient and world coin sale contains Part 2 of the Wiseman collection, and its paper money sale contains Part 3, roughly 60 of the so-called Top 100 U.S. currency notes.
Heritage will auction Wiseman?s Colonial coins and hobo nickels at its sale in conjuction with the 2007 Florida United Numismatists convention.
Additional anchor consignors in the Long Beach sale include the Big Tex registry collection of Walking Liberty halves; the Catfish Creek collection; the Della collection of Liberty quarter eagles (#1 PCGS Registry Collection with varieties); the Manistee collection; and the Tigard Oregon small cent collection.
This is Heritage?s 58th official auction at the Long Beach Expo.
