Kazakhstan Mint at World Money Fair in Berlin
We have been in Berlin for three days and the World Money Fair is really gearing up for business. Many Mint officials from around the world are here at the Estrel Hotel conducting the business of new issues coins at the highest level.
A number of Mint Directors, Sales, Export and Marketing Managers have scheduled meeting times with our Krause Publications group. This morning we spent time talking with the Director of the Kazakhstan Mint - Farit Tuganbayev and Aizhan Zhanuzakova of the Sales Department.
Scott Tappa, Publisher for KP Numismatics had some financial business to wrap up with the Director, then we moved on to discussions of future plans.
The Kazakhstan coinage program covers both circulating coins and a wide variety of commoratives from copper-nickel to silver, to gold. A number of new coins will make their way into the next edition of the Standard Catalog of World Coins 2001-Date with the information that Director Tuganbayev will supply.
Of special interest to collectors of Kazakhstan coins here in the United States; Director Tuganbayev explained that many precious metal issues of the Mint are only distributed to the home market and so, may not have been seen outside of Kazakhstan very often.
Keep and eye on NumisMaster and the Standard Catalog of Wolrd Coins 2001-Date for updates in this area.
