Wastweet named to CCAC

Heidi Wastweet was named to a four year-term on the Citizens Coin Advisory Committee representing the medallic arts.

Heidi Wastweet was named to a four year-term on the Citizens Coin Advisory Committee representing the medallic arts.

She is a medallist and sculptor who specializes in bas-relief bronzes, according to her biography.

Wastweet has created over 1,000 coins, medals, tokens and rare coin replicas since 1987 through a number of private mints. She was chief engraver for Sunshine Mint for 11 years and lead designer/sculptor for Global Mint for five years.

In 2001 she opened her own studio and relocated in 2002 from Idaho to Seattle, Wash.

Wastweet was treasurer of the American Medallic Sculpture Association from 2003-2009 and is current president and founder of the Seattle Sculpture Guild, as well as a member of the Fédération Internationale de la Médaille d’Art (FIDEM).

Her non-commissioned work has been exhibited at the National Sculpture Society in New York and the Norwegian Heritage Museum in Washington.
