April 1 is the opening date for ordering uncirculated 2008-W gold American Eagle coins.
Specially struck for collectors on burnished blanks, the coins were created to cater to collectors who want to be able to buy uncirculated coins directly from the U.S. Mint.
With the ?W? mintmark for West Point and burnished planchets, the Mint considers these coins to fall midway in quality between bullion coins and proofs.
Price for the one-ounce coin is $1,119.95, the half ounce is $565.95, the quarter ounce is $295.95 and the tenth ounce is $124.95. A four-coin set is $2,039.95.
There are no mintage ceilings or order limits.
