Michael S. “Stan” Turrini of Vallejo, Calif., has announced he is a candidate for governor of the American Numismatic Association in the upcoming 2009 election.
“Now, having retired and having an intense devotion to our world of money, I offer to the ANA and its members, as well as our world of money, my decades of involvement and commitment to the hobby at all levels, my various experiences and background, and my proven willingness to serve,” Turrini said in a statement announcing his candidacy.
His platform is centered on four R’s: relationships, retention, recognition and a representative program.
“These are my primary platform planks, and these do not dismiss the need to be fiscally sound, to maintain our exemplary existing programs and services, to care for our diligent and dedicated professional staff, and to continue our rewarding national gatherings, the World’s Fair of Money and National Money Show, plus to promote Young Numismatics,” Turrini stated.
“I offer my dedication, willingness to listen and to learn, and my intense enthusiasm for our world of money.”
