TEC to roll Chicago designs

The Elongated Collectors will issue two elongated designs to mark the 2011 American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Chicago, set for Aug. 16-20.

The first features the old ANA logo surrounded by “ANA” and “2011.” Above is “World’s Fair of Money” and below is “Chicago” and “My Kind of Town.”

The second design features the TEC owl logo in the center, flanked by years, 1893 and 2011. Above the central design is “ANA,” “2011” and “Chicago.” Below reads, “Chicago is

Where Elongated Coins Began,” a reference to the World’s Fair that was held in 1892 and 1893.Both designs will be rolled by the thousands and given away at the TEC booth at the convention. Attendees will also have the opportunity to have the designs rolled onto their pocket change at no charge. Children will be allowed to roll their own coins.

Special issues will also be available. Both designs in a six-coin set costs $6 per set. The TEC design will also be available in the form of badges, with ribbon and pin, rolled on Illinois state quarters from oversize dies. An enameled badge costs $25, and a non-enameled badge is $6.

All items will be available at the TEC booth. They can also be ordered by mail to Larry White, TEC Store, P.O. Box 85, Liberty Center, OH 43532. Rolled cents cost 50 cents each by mail and all mail- order prices are plus postage.
