Every collector has run across many varieties of military looking pins from stylized designs to those that look like tiny military insignia. During the WWII era I think almost every young soldier sent home gifts from his local PX store ranging from camp and training photos to fathers. Ornate pillow cases to mothers and sisters and of course those sweetheart pins that show up everywhere. It will be no surprise to anyone who knows me and my interest in Wisconsin militaria that my favorites are the chained pins that feature miniature enameled unit crests or distinctive insignia linked to division patch designs in pin form like the one illustrated below. So far I have found about half a dozen different Wisconsin versions. I am sure there must be a lot more Wisconsin types out there and what about the other states?
