Thought to be worth millions, the Good River Collection will be included in Superior Galleries? Beverly Hills Elite Auction.
Scheduled for May 28-30, just prior to the Long Beach Coin Expo, the sale could be one of the firm?s best in years.
?I knew from my first discussion with our client that this would be an impressive consignment,? said Larry Abbott, Superior?s executive vice president and chief operating officer. ?However, I must admit that I was not prepared for the number of exceedingly rare and superb quality coins that I saw when I was finally able to view the collection.?
Foremost among them are four Panama-Pacific $50 gold coins, including one graded MS-67 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp.
The entire collection was to be displayed at Superior?s bourse table at the Central States Numismatic Convention.
Other highlights from the Good River Collection include: a 1794 half dime, NGC MS-67; a 1797 $10 large eagle, NGC MS-61; a 1909 $20, NGC Proof 66; and an 1879 Flowing Hair $4 Stella, NGC Proof-63.
Lot viewing begins two weeks prior to the sale. Potential bidders are advised to call soon to arrange viewing, or for assistance with local accommodations or any special requests.
