Over 4,000 attendees registered at the second annual Summer FUN convention held June 26-28 in West Palm Beach.

This figure is an increase from 1,500 from last year, said Tony Swicer for the Florida United Numismatists. There were over 100 Young Numismatists at the Saturday morning program and 50 scouts attended the coin collecting merit badge clinic.

Bourse tables numbered 176. There were eight exhibits, and four educational seminars.

Dealer comments ranged from, ?OK? to ?Awesome. Most dealers were on the positive side, Swicer said.

Grading services PCGS, ICG, and ANACS had tables. PCGS displayed some counterfeits and ?No grade? pieces from its collections. ICG gave free verbal opinions on coins.

Heritage Auction Galleries realized over $12 million at its auction.
The Greater Jacksonville Coin Club was awarded the 2007-2008 FUN Florida Coin Club of the Year Award. The club received a plaque, a life membership in FUN and $200.

FUN Topics editor Jim Best was given the ?FUN Presidents Award? by Bob Hurst.

The 54th annual FUN convention will be Jan. 7-11, 2009, in Orlando, and the third annual Summer FUN will be July 9-11, 2009, in West Palm Beach.
