The 29th Annual Golden State Coin Show will be truly golden when it is held Aug. 24-26 at the Arcadia Masonic Center located at 50 W. Duarte Road in Arcadia, Calif. It is sponsored by the Numismatic Association of Southern California.
On Sunday, Aug. 26, the Nona G. Moore Member Club Benefit Gold Drawing will be held. A total of 35 gold coins will be awarded. The top gold prize will be a Certified PCGS MS-65 1927 Saint-Gaudens $20 gold coin. Bourse Chairman Don Berry says, “It’s one way to help our many member clubs raise funds for their clubs and also attract people to this great show.”
Show hours are 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. There is free parking and onsite food service. Admission is $4 for adults (free for new NASC membership) and free for juniors under 16 with adult.
Bourse Chairman Berry has 55 tables available, which should sell out due to the popularity of this club-sponsored show and with the recent bargains in bullion prices for gold and silver. U.S., foreign, ancient, token, and currency dealers will be present. For table information and application contact Berry at dberry@pressedsales.com or mail to P.O. Box 92, Tujunga, CA 91043. Telephone number is 626-786-0177.
The NASC will present a Boy Scout Coin Collecting Workshop at the show on Saturday, Aug. 25, from noon to 3 p.m. Scouts will learn about the fun and fascinating numismatic hobby and earn the BSA Coin Collecting Merit Badge. Scout pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Walt Ostromecki at ostromecki@money.org. Assisting Walt will be Albertus Hoogeveen.
