Superior Galleries welcomed Mitchell T. Stoltz to its newly expanded board of directors as it also announced a search for a new chief financial officer due to the resignation of Paul Biberkraut.

The board decided to expand from five to seven members at a Dec. 15, 2005, meeting.

Stoltz, who has more than 25 years of experience in executive and operational management, sales and marketing was also appointed chair of the board?s nominating committee, and he will be leading the effort to fill the open seat on the board.

?We are pleased that Mitch has agreed to join our board of directors and is taking on a key role in both the recruitment and the engagement of independent board members,? said Superior chairman and CEO Silvano DiGenova.

He added that Stoltz ?brings with him a stellar track record in helping organizations develop and execute their strategic and operational plans.?

Stoltz, a graduate of Notre Dame University with an MBA from Northwestern University?s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, was president of beverage distribution company NWS Illinois between 1995-2001. He has been an independent consultant to that industry since then, remaining on the board of NWS Illinois.

The resignation of Paul Biberkraut as Superior?s executive vice president, CFO and board secretary was effective Jan. 15.

Biberkraut remains on the board to assist in the transition of his CFO responsibilities when the firm finds a replacement CFO.
