Among the U.S. coin highlights is a group of $1 gold pieces that include an 1880 graded MS-68 by the Professional Coin Grading Service with CAC sticker, an 1874 graded MS-66 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp. with CAC sticker and an 1885 graded Proof-64 CAM by PCGS with CAC sticker.
An 1879 Flowing Hair gold $4 graded NGC Proof-62 Cameo and an NGC MS-66 1932 gold $10 are other gold highlights.
Collectors who wondered if key coins like 1916-D Mercury dimes could ever be found in circulation will see the proof in an AG-3 piece featured in the sale.
The Firth of Clyde collection presents four coins from Scotland’s most famous monarch, Mary Queen of Scots. The most important of these four is a 1555 three-pound piece in fine condition.
Some of the other highlights include a medallic gold 2 ducats of Poland depicting Princess Isabella Czartoryska. It grades AU-55, according to the Numismatic Guaranty Corp.
A gold British pattern dated 1817 of George III by William Wyon featuring a design with a shield on the reverse and the legend, “Incorrupta Fides Veritasque” is called Proof-63 Ultra Cameo by NGC.
Among the paper money issues is a rare set of the 1941 Arias issue for Panama. The 1, 5, 10 and 20 balboas were printed by the Hamilton Bank Note Co.
