Gold double eagles will be among the highlights from the St. Andre Collection that will be put on the auction block by Stack’s March 23 in Baltimore.
The collection features a fairly comprehensive set of Liberty Head and Saint-Gaudens types, the catalogers say. The set includes examples of the rare 1860-O, 1861-O, 1866-S No Motto, 1870-CC and 1920-S pieces.
Also featured in the sale, the Bob Entlich Collection will give bidders a chance to compete for a wide-ranging group of Colonial and U.S. coins and paper money.
Paper money is strongly represented in the nearly 4,000 lots to be sold.
The White Oak Collection is a high quality gathering of New York City, borough, and upstate obsolete notes, private and municipal scrip and fiscal paper.
Featured in a separate catalog, the York Collection includes a very nearly complete set of Continental Currency. This collection contains many condition rarities and notes that are the finest graded or tied for finest graded by third-party services, the firm says.
Also in the sale is the Richard Gross Collection of U.S. coins, medals, Washington pieces and so-called dollars.
