The March 11 launch of the Coin Collector?s Survival Manual, Fifth Edition Software program attracted 51 people.
Carlisle Development distributed complimentary Survival Manual CD-ROM disks to about 24 attendees. Those not receiving a software disk received a free book.
The gathering was held at the Radisson Hotel in Boston, in conjunction with the Bay State Coin Show.
Festivities included a 90-minute seminar illustrated by interactive images from the software. Among items discussed were unexpected changes in grading standards since 2003, coin upgrades from grading services, counterfeit and altered coins being offered online, and other items.
