The RanJack Collection of Morgan silver dollars was the headline performer in the July Regency Auction July 26.

Held in conjunction with the PCGS Members Only Show in Las Vegas, the 604-lot sale was called by Legend Rare Coin Auctions.

Lot 1 was an 1878 7 Tail Feather, Reverse of 1878 graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service as MS66+ CAC. Chased by seven bidders, it sold for $43,475, nearly triple the previous record price.

All prices include a 17.5 percent buyer’s fee.

“We are just ecstatic with the results of the RanJack Collection!” said Julie Abrams.

The highest grossing lot in the sale was from a group of 18th century type coins.

Lot 174 was the superb 1794 large cent, Ex. Lord St. Oswald, in PCGS MS66+ BN CAC. It realized $246,750, according to the firm.

From the same group was a GEM AU58+ 1796 dime that realized $29,375.

Other dollars from the RanJack Collection included an 1887-S PCGS MS66+ CAC, Ex Jack Lee II, that realized $44,650.

An 1893-O PCGS MS64 CAC, Ex NFL Set brought $35,250

Silver dollars from other consignments were highlighted by a superb 1892-O PCGS MS66+ CAC. It sold for $79,313.
