Shepherd out as ANA executive director

Larry Shepherd will not be returning to his American Numismatic Association executive director's post. He had been placed on paid administrative leave Aug. 20.

This outcome was announced a few minutes ago by President Tom Hallenbeck in a conference call to the numismatic press and it will be presented to an ANA headquarters staff meeting this afternoon.

The ANA board of governors voted Sept. 20 and the decision was 9-0. In the words of a soon-to-be-released press statement, the board "has ended its employment relationship with Larry Shepherd as executive director."
