Organizers say an exhibit paying tribute to Martin Luther Beistle, the first person to study in depth Seated Liberty half dollars and author of a book on the topic, will be on display featuring Seated halves.

Some of the halves are from the collection of Bill Bugert, who has organized the exhibit.

Also on exhibit will be the Top 100 Seated dimes.

The series of exhibits arranged by the Liberty Seated Collectors Club will also include the No. 1 set of proof Seated quarters as ranked by the Professional Coin Grading Service. It is called the Greenwich Collection.

Selected coins from the Chicago Collection of Seated quarters will also be on display. This collection is the overall No. 1 set for the type in the PCGS ranking.

Competitive exhibits will vie for a quarter-ounce gold American Eagle prize for Best in Show. Second and third places will earn tenth-ounce gold American Eagles.

The Maryland State Numismatic Association will sponsor competitive exhibits as well as noncompetitive exhibits.

Kid’s Korner activities begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Youngsters aged 6 to 14 who attend are promised free coins and prizes.

Overall show hours are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 5-6, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7.
