There was a record turnout of Scouts at two coin collecting Merit Badge clinics held Oct. 31-Nov. 2 during the 45th annual Hawaii State Numismatic Association convention.
Total attendance for the events was 191, including 11 Girl Scouts. When parents and troop leaders were counted, the total was over 400. All attendees earned their Merit Badges.
Leading the clinic was American Numismatic Association Vice President Patti Finner. She was assisted by former ANA President William H. Horton Jr. and others.
Making the introductions was Greg Hunt, who has served for 30 years as president of the Honolulu Coin Club and HSNA.
Approximately 80 dealers did business on the bourse. Chairing the event was Marion Kendrick.
