A slowing rate of sales looks to postpone a sellout of the Boy Scout commemorative silver dollars.
As of April 11, the Mint had recorded orders for 290,392 coins, leaving 59,608 available before the 350,000 maximum mintage level is reached.
For the latest seven-day period, sales totaled 23,875 coins. To achieve a sellout at that pace will take almost another three weeks.
So far, collectors have preferred the proofs by a factor of 2:1, taking 196,400 proofs and 93,992 uncirculateds.
Sales of the Boy Scout silver dollars began March 23. The pre-issue discount period was set to end April 21. At that point buyers will pay $4 more for the proof at $43.95 and $2 more for the uncirculated at $35.95.
