Scotsman sale at $1 million

More than $1 million was realized by Scotsman at its Collectors’ Auction 2009 held Oct. 16 at the St. Charles, Mo., convention center.

More than $1 million was realized by Scotsman at its Collectors’ Auction 2009 held Oct. 16 at the St. Charles, Mo., convention center.

Top lot in the approximately 900-lot sale was a high-relief 1907 Saint-Gaudens gold $20 graded MS-65 by the Professional Coin Grading Service. It realized $40,825.

Prices realized include a 15 percent buyer’s fee.

A Flowing Hair 1795 silver dollar graded AU-55 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corp. fetched $23,000.

An 1895 proof Morgan dollar did not sell. The firm said bids failed to reach the reserve price.
