Collectors who were not taking chances on getting them from circulation began ordering bags and rolls of uncirculated American Samoa quarters from the Mint’s Web site July 27.
This is the fourth of six quarter designs to be issued in 2009. The first three honor the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam. Mintages have been declining design by design.
Will the trend continue with the fourth?
Two-roll American Samoa quarter sets are priced at $32.95 each. Each roll is 40 coins, one roll each from the Denver and Philadelphia mints.
Bags of 100 coins are the same $32.95 price. Each bag contains coins from either the Denver or Philadelphia mints. The bags do not mix coins from both mints together.
Bags of 1,000 coins are priced at $309.95 each.
Every order is assessed a $4.95 handling fee. For each 1,000-coin bag a further $7.95 shipping fee is charged for the extra weight.
