The latest issue in the Royal Canadian Mint’s popular series of legal tender, silver bullion coins depicting North American wildlife will be available next month from Universal Coin & Bullion, a major distributor of the coins.
The new precious metal coin depicts a pronghorn antelope. Michael Fuljenz, president of Universal Coin & Bullion, served as an expert consultant on the coin’s design.
Struck by the RCM, each of the coins is made of 1 ounce of 99.99 percent pure silver. The pronghorn antelope is the fifth in a planned series of six wildlife bullion coins.
The design of the 2013-dated coin was unveiled by RCM officials at the recent American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Philadelphia.
One side of the coin depicts a pronghorn antelope in the wild, and the other side has an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
“The previous coins in the exciting wildlife series quickly sold out, and we’ve had many inquiries about when the fifth design would be available,” said Fuljenz, who attended the RCM’s coin design unveiling at the World’s Fair of Money. “I’m happy to say we’ll have them available in September while our supplies last.
“I was also proud to assist the Royal Canadian Mint to help vet the final design for the impressive Pronghorn Antelope coin. They produce high-quality precious metals coins that are collected worldwide.”
The coin is expected to be available starting in mid-September. For more information, contact Universal Coin & Bullion by phone at (800) 459-2646, or visit online at www.UniversalCoin.com.
