The second proof silver American Eagle of 2018 will be offered by the U.S. Mint on its website and by telephone starting Aug. 14.
This one-ounce proof will have an “S” mintmark on it for San Francisco. The one-ounce that has been on sale since January has a West Point “W” on it.
Price of the new proof Eagle will be $55.95 plus shipping.
There is no mintage ceiling. The Mint will strike as many as buyers want.
No household order limit will be imposed, either.
So far, buyers have taken 289,617 of the 2018-W proof silver Eagles.
