Platinum proof Eagle set gets strong start
Platinum proof American Eagles sales numbers have begun this week.
Platinum proof American Eagles sales numbers have begun this week and their maximum mintage possibilities are beside them.
Perhaps the only surprise in the first week?s numbers is the quantity of four-coin sets that have been sold. Perhaps it is from subscriptions or from bulk sales to retailers, but the sets have clearly shown some early strength.
There are no maximums for the ?W? uncirculated platinum Eagles. The Mint intends to make them to order.
This is the first week that the 2007 14-coin clad proof set appears in the listings and the last week that the 2006 10-coin clad proof set will appear. The latter set closed out with a sales number of just over 2 million.
There are some statistical quirks this week. The Little Rock Coin and Medal set number declined. The gold four-coin ?W? Eagle set did not move.
