Numismatic News’ first permanent home was recognized at the unveiling Oct. 13 of an historical marker by John Gillespie, left, and Clifford Mishler. It stands in front of a building that was built by Chet Krause in 1957 to house his growing publishing business. It was in that year also that Krause gave up his career as a building contractor. Mishler noted that it was through the front door there that he first walked in March 1963. The next year Krause Publications became a corporate business entity. As Krause’s business prospered he became a staunch patron of a charity founded near Iola by Gillespie in 1965. Rawhide Boys Ranch works with at-risk youth. See Page 6 for more about the ceremony.
