Host clubs for the March 7-9 Phoenix 2008 American Numismatic Association National Money Show have created a limited-edition commemorative medal set that is now on sale.

Fewer than 200 of the individually numbered sets are available for purchase through the mail from the Mesa Coin Club and Phoenix Coin Club in Arizona. Attendees will also be able to buy the set at the show March 7-9.

The proof quality 39mm silver, copper and bronze medals were locally designed and minted at the Arizona Territorial Mint in what is called a 3-D, high-relief coining process. The copper comes directly from Arizona mines.

The obverse design features the mythological bird Phoenix with wings outstretched. It is rising above flames from the burning adobe buildings of historical Phoenix, Ariz. The perimeter indicates the ANA National Money Show and dates of March 7-9, 2008.

The reverse design is an Arizona desert scene. A sun is rising over two mesas and an eagle is soaring overhead. The saguaro cactus in the foreground stands above prickly pear cactus. The inscription lists the names of the two sponsoring clubs and the motto, ?Numismatic Fellowship.?

The edge of each medal contains a unique serial number, and the silver medal is marked 1 troy ounce of pure .999 silver. The medals come in a presentation quality leatherette covered metal case. Each medal is enclosed in an archival plastic capsule.

The set is priced at $47 plus shipping. Insurance is $6.95 for the first set. Each additional set costs $47 plus 50 cents more for shipping delivered to the same address.

Mail orders to the ANA Convention Dept., 818 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs CO 80903.

Order forms may be printed and online orders may be placed by clicking ?National Money Show? under the ?Numismatic Events? section at www.money.org.
