Park quarter debuts April 20
The much-awaited America the Beautiful quarter series will debut April 20 in Hot Springs, Ark., in honor of the very first design, which honors Hot Springs National Park.
Mint Director Ed Moy will lead the special event at the Hot Springs National Park Administration Building at 101 Reserve St. It begins at 10 a.m.
The event will occur on the 178th anniversary of the park.
Individuals attending will have the opportunity to buy the new quarter at face value. Rolls of 40-coins with a face value of $10 will be swapped for an equal dollar amount in paper money after the formal ceremony is concluded.
Collectors also will have the opportunity to attend a Coin Forum on the night before, April 19, at the Quapaw Bath House, 413 Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs.
Moy will talk about future Mint programs and initiatives and the public will be able to ask him questions about coinage-related topics.
