The biggest all-paper money event of the year, the International Paper Money Show in Memphis, Tenn., will enjoy its 30th annual run June 16-18.
Associated events begin with breakfast at 7:30 Friday morning, June 16, hosted this year as every year by the Society of Paper Money Collectors. Breakfast tickets, $17 each, should be purchased in advance and are available from Wendell Wolka, P.O. Box 1211, Greenwood, IN 46142. Make checks or money orders payable to The Society of Paper Money Collectors, Inc.
The bourse typically opens to dealers as the breakfast ends, setting in motion the central attraction that draws collectors to Memphis from around the world.
Lyn Knight Currency Auctions will conduct a two-session sale in conjunction with the show. Sale sessions are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings. Learn more about the LKCA sale online at www.lynknight.com.
Various organization meetings and presentations are scheduled for Friday and Saturday of the show.
At 2 p.m. Friday, June 16, Chris Cipoletti, executive director of the American Numismatic Association, will present ?Where Is the ANA Going, Why Are We Changing, and What Does It Mean to You??
SPMC?s open membership meeting on Saturday will feature Dr. Donald Kagin?s discussion of currency issues of the War of 1812 period.
Other organizations are also expected to meet, such as the International Bank Note Society, Fractional Currency Collectors Board, and others.
