The Central States Numismatic Society convention will pack an educational wallop April 25-29 at the Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill.

Serious collectors will especially appreciate a two-day seminar, “Basic Paper Money Grading” taught by Glen Jorde, past president of the Professional Currency Dealers Association. Cost is $100 for CSNS members and $125 for non-members It will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 25 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26.

On Thursday at 10 a.m. Allen Schein, will offer “The Identity of Bela Lyon Pratt’s Indian.” Len Augsburger will follow at 11 a.m. with a “Newman Numismatic Portal User Forum.”

At 12:30 p.m. Doug Davis will give a talk called, “The Numismatic Crime Information Center – What It Is and Why It Matters in Your Life.”

At 2 p.m. Greg Rohan, Heritage Auctions president will present “My LIfe at Heritage in the Rarified World of High End Luxury Collectables.” Miles Standish will follow at 3 p.m. with “American Silver Eagles” and Mitch Ernst ends the day at 4 p.m. with “Introduction to Non-Profit Organization Fund Raising.”

On Friday at 8:30 a.m. Kathy McFadden will give the Industry Council for Tangible Assets’ “National and State Legislative Update.”

At 10:30 Robert Campbell will offer “All About Morgan Silver Dollars.” Andrew Kimmel will follow at 12:30 p.m. with “Artifical vs. Natural Toning of Coins.”

At 2:30 p.m. Peter Huntoon gives a talk called “A Pathway to Building a World Class National Bank Note Collection. Ernst is up again at 3 p.m. with Session 2 of non-profit fund-raising.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday Cindy Wibker presents “An Exonumia Overview” At 12:30 p.m. Robert Fritsch delivers “Exploring the Wonderful World of Tokens and Medals” At 2:30 p.m. Ray Lockwood covers “All You Ever Wanted to Know About Polymer Bank Notes.”
