Problems with accompanying materials has caused the Mint to suspend the sales of additional 2016 sets.

The Mint says an incorrect image was used for the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park on the 2016 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set packaging.

The America the Beautiful quarter proof set has an incorrect image of the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park on the packaging.

According to the Mint, the same error also affects the 2016 clad proof set and silver proof sets that have not yet been offered on the Mint’s website.

“We expect all three products to be available for sale in the April time frame, the Mint said.

The Mint will also replace the 2016 error quarter proof set with a corrected version should customers desire.

Because the sets with the packaging mistake are selling in online auctions for more than issue price, buyers of the error sets may choose to keep them.

However, historically packaging errors carry little premium.

The Mint said it deeply regrets the error and any inconvenience it has caused to its customers.
