The Every Country Collectors group held its fourth annual meeting April 26 during the Chicago International Coin Fair in Rosemont, Ill.

Eighteen members attended the meeting. Joe Lang gave a presentation titled ?Collecting Islamic Civic Copper Coinage? and was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts.

The group, which operates primarily online and meets in person yearly during CICF, was formed in January 2003. Its members? ultimate goal is to collect a coin from every country in the world.

?Online you can connect with others who have the same interests you do,? said Paul Nichols, who moderates the group along with Shawn Hamilton.
The group consists of 191 members representing 20 different countries, Nichols said. There are more than 13,000 posted messages on the group?s Web site. Much of the member interaction consists of trading items and sharing information.

Members collect based on a checklist of more than 5,000 issuing entities. It is updated on a yearly basis.

It is free to become a member of the Every Country Collectors. The online community can be found at http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/everycountry.
