Absence does apparently make the collector heart grow fonder ? at least in certain instances. Sales numbers for the one-ounce uncirculated gold American Eagle with the ?W? mintmark popped up nicely after they came back on sale with a new and higher price. Sales jumped 4,906, almost doubling the total to 11,123. Other ?W? coins rose, but only in small increments.
While the one-ounce ?W? was jumping, regular bullion coin totals remained unchanged for gold and platinum Eagles and gold Buffaloes. What does that tell us? Silver Eagles continue to move ahead.
Jefferson first day covers are almost sold out.
