A coin show will be held at the Old San Francisco Mint building Nov. 6-7.
It is being organized by Suisun City dealer Scott Griffin.
“We’re really excited about it,” he said when he agreed to be interviewed for the Sept. 10 online Coin Chat Radio program.
He says there will be free tours of the historic building, which survived the 1906 earthquake and fire, and presentations by local historians. Impressions of silver dollar bags have been left in the walls of the vaults.
The bourse will feature 25-30 dealers dispersed through eight historic rooms in the old facility.
Hours of the show will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each of the two days.
The Old Mint is undergoing a restoration and it will eventually become a venue for public events.
Admission is $5, but a $2 off coupon can be obtained at www.griffincoin.com.
The Pickwick Hotel is located across the street. It has a special room rate of $72 a night for dealers and others who plan to attend both days. Check the Web site for contact information and for parking.
Dealers who are interested in taking a table can contact Griffin via the Web site or by telephone at 415 601-8661.
