More than 65 members of New Jersey’s Ocean County Coin Club attended its annual holiday social event Dec 4. at the Ocean Fire House in Point Pleasant Beach.
“It was our best ever Christmas event,” said Dennis Berube, club vice president. “There was a tremendous amount and selection of food for the evening, which brought out many favorable comments amongst the members.”
The holiday celebration is an event that the club has held for the past 20 years.
OCCC held its usual adult and junior gift exchanges. Christmas music and the decorated firehouse added to the festivities.
“In addition to exchanging gifts, all YNs were given a special gift from the club that included a magnifier, an Indian Head cent, four Westward Journey nickels plus a number of other numismatic items,” said president Jim Majoros.
Members Gary Samer, Karen Beier and Dennis Berube won poinsettia plants.
The club meets on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The YN program begins at 6:45 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. The first meeting of the month is dedicated to education programs, and the second meeting features an auction.
