The Numismatists of Wisconsin organization is coming home.
Why don’t you join in the homecoming here in Iola, Wis., where NOW is holding its state show today and tomorrow?
Hours are noon to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.
The show is at the Iola Old Car Show Activity Center just south of the Krause Publications building.
The bourse will have 55 tables staffed by 40 dealers.
There is also a mystery dinner to sign up for. What’s the mystery? I wish I knew. Clifford Mishler is not talking. All will be revealed tonight.
With gold and silver on the strong side, perhaps there will be something of a buzz on the floor due to this alone.
It should not be the case. Buyers should grab bullion when it is down, not after it has risen for a few days in a row. But that seems to be human nature.
If you can resist the temptation to chase bullion higher, you can still see who might not be as strong as you are.
Naturally, collector coins will be here in abundance, and that is a major purpose of a coin show.
This is an opportunity to fill your want list.
NOW was founded in in Iola in 1960 with the help of Chet Krause, who started Numismatic News in 1952.
If you come to the show, you just might see him. He is as excited about it as everyone else is.
Now I know that it is too far for most collectors in the United States to drive here, so we’ll settle for your good wishes.
