Strange, but my November calendar is beginning to fill up.

In a month that I usually try to take a vacation, I have two show commitments.

Thanksgiving weekend I will be at the Michigan State Numismatic Society gathering in Warren.

I will be there to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the organization. I am headline speaker at their dinner.

The weekend prior to that, I will be in suburban Chicago to attend the Professional Currency Dealers Association convention to attend a meeting of the Chicago Coin Club.

I will be part of a program of remembrance for Chet Krause, the founder of "Numismatic News."

I will be joining Clifford Mishler and Joel Edler in the presentation.

It will be based on the program Clifford and I gave at the Numismatic Literary Guild Bash in August during the American Numismatic Association convention in Anaheim.

Clifford has a license plate on his car that says “40 Yrs at KP.” He worked as Chet’s right-hand man and was his successor here at Krause Publications.

Joel was long-time ad manager who retired in 2006.

It will be fun. Perhaps we can consider it the kick-off event of the 65th anniversary celebration for "Numismatic News."

The first issue was Oct. 13, 1952, so by the time we reach the PCDA show, we will be well into the second month of that 65th year.

And to think I arrived in this office within months of the 25th anniversary. Time flies, especially when you get to go to coin and paper money shows like I do.
