No price change for 2011 ATB
The price remains the same. The first 2011 uncirculated America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver collector coin went on sale Sept. 22 with a price of $279.95.
That is the same price as the five 2010 uncirculated ATB 5-ounce coins that were released this year.
The first 2011 ATB coin with a “P” mintmark honors Gettysburg National Military Park.
The numismatic coins are .999 fine silver, the same as the bullion version of the coin. They have the “P” mintmark and a finish applied through a vapor blasting technique. It is the same finish used on the Mint’s 3-inch bronze medals. It is applied after the coin is struck, not to the die.
The four 2011 uncirculated ATB coins to yet be issued this year, with the same designs, but different finishes than the bullion coins, honor Glacier National Park, Olympic National Park, Vicksburg National Military Park and Chickasaw National Recreation Area.
The 2010 uncirculated ATB 5-ounce coins each had mintage maximums of 27,000. The Mount Hood coin, which is still being sold, has not yet reached that level.
The mintage figure for the 2011 coins has been raised to 35,000 from the 27,000 level of the 2010 issues. The bullion coins have achieved sales totals of 126,700 for the Gettysburg and Glacier designs and are no longer on sale. Still being sold are the bullion versions of the Olympic, Vicksburg and Chickasaw designs. The have reached 81,300, 28,800 and 17,700, respectively. The bullion coins have a brilliant finish and do not have a mintmark on them.
The collector coins may be ordered online at www.usmint.gov, or by calling 1-800-USA-MINT.
