The New York Numismatic Club celebrated its centennial last friday, December 12, 2008 with a dinner meeting at Keen's Chop House in New York City.
It is the same location where the club was founded 1200 monthly meetings ago.
Although a club member since 1981, I was not in attendance. I have been trying to keep active although I only not get to fewer than one meeting a year since moving out to Wisconsin in 1993. However, I do keep active by sheparding along their bi-annual presidential portrait medal series.
Although I will also miss the January meeting this year as I have a short visit to NYC during the NY International, I'll get to see many members of the club at the show.
It will also be my opportunity to visit the NYNC Club Member's display at the new ANS location.
