New seminars teach grading

The seminars

Learn more about grading and counterfeit detection by attending seminars on the subjects on the East Coast this fall.

The American Numismatic Association Outreach Department is partnering with the New England Numismatic Association and the North Carolina Numismatic Association to set up the classes.

The seminars “Introduction to Counterfeit Detection” and “Introduction to Grading United States Coins” will be held during two one-day sessions at the Wayfarer Inn in Bedford, New Hampshire, Sept. 28 and 29. The classes will be led by grading and counterfeit detection expert Mary Sauvain. Immediately following the seminars is the New Hampshire Coin and Currency Expo at the same location.

Hickory, N.C., is the location of a “Fundamentals of Grading” two-day seminar led by ANA Outreach Director Dr. Lane Brunner. The class will be held in conjunction with the 2005 NCNA Convention at the Hickory Metro Convention Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
