New publication highlights municipals

Serge Pelletier has released the first issue of “The Gazette of Municipal Numismatics.”

The first issue of The Gazette of Municipal Numismatics, a new magazine, has started to make its way to collectors worldwide.
What is “municipal numismatics?”

Editor Serge Pelletier explained, “I guess you could say it’s a specific branch of exonumia, the one that encompasses all material attributable to a municipality, such as municipal trade tokens, scrip, medallions, notgeld, wooden money and so on.”

Pelletier said that the magazine’s focus will mainly be on recent material from Canada and the United States.
As for the format, the quarterly magazine (ISSN 1715-4154) will be available in both printed and electronic forms. The printed form will be letter-size and will contain between 44 and 52 pages of material printed on bond paper with a color cover.

A subscription is C$30/year for Canadian addresses, C$35 for American addresses and C$45 for international addresses. Single copies are available at, respectively, C$10, C$12.50 and C$15.

Those interested in getting an electronic copy (ISSN 1715-4162) will receive a screen-resolution locked PDF file at the time of publication and, at the end of the year, a CD-ROM containing the four issues in printable print-resolution .pdf format.

The cost of an e-subscription is C$15/year for Canadian addresses, C$17.50 for American addresses and C$22.50 for international addresses.
