When the June 3 issue of Numismatic News went to press last Thursday, you cannot know how happy I was that I had survived several computer glitches that tried to get between me and the successful conclusion of a deadline.

In this particular issue was an important work by R.W. Julian.

He has done some original research into the story of the 1792 half disme. It is a coin that is surrounded by much numismatic lore.

Julian puts some new information on the table.

I think you will find it interesting.

However, the whole story is not exactly a short one, so the presentation in the June 3 issue is just the first one in what will be a six-part series.

It will be worth your while to read series. Watch for it starting in the June 3 Numismatic News.
