A new chairperson has taken over the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.
Mary N. Lannin of San Rafael, Calif., replaces Gary Marks. She is a former winery owner and public TV director as well as a coin collector starting in childhood.
She was appointed as a CCAC member in 2014 based on the recommendation of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Marks will continue to serve as a member of the CCAC until his term expires later this year.
Also a free-lance editor with developed skills in numismatic publication, Lannin has worked with authors from the United States, Canada, Germany, and Greece, the U.S. Mint said.
She is a life member of both the American Numismatic Society and American Numismatic Association, and is currently a member of the Royal Numismatic Society, the Swiss Numismatic Society, the San Francisco Ancient Numismatic Society, and the New York Numismatic Club.
Lannin is a member of the Ancient Arts Council of the Legion of Honor (San Francisco), the Asian Art Museum (San Francisco), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is a volunteer staff member at the Legion of Honor, currently evaluating the 50 most valuable holdings for the museum and the City of San Francisco.
Lannin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota (1969) and attended Trinity College, Washington D.C.
