The United States Mint has announced a release date of Wednesday, May 10, for its 10-coin silver proof set.

Details on pricing will be forthcoming, but were not available at press time. On March 22, the Mint released the 2006 U.S. Mint Proof Set, otherwise known as the clad set. It was priced at $22.95.

The silver proof set will feature silver versions of the Roosevelt dime, the Kennedy half dollar and five state quarters from 2006 ? Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota.

The cent, nickel and dollar coins are standard alloy.
