We are in the home stretch for the ?W? mintmarked uncirculated American Eagles. A couple more of the gold options sold out, leaving just two still on sale. Perhaps if you hurry, you can still buy a ?W? one-ounce gold American Eagle or the full four-coin gold set.
Sales of the one-ounce coin jumped by 333 in the past week. Interestingly, the sales of the four-coin set nearly doubled to 4,213, but they have not yet sold out. Somebody decided to lay in a big supply. It is not likely that 1,996 individual collectors suddenly decided to buy one set apiece.
The numbers for the San Francisco Old Mint went up a bit for the four coins. It isn?t quite the audited and reconciled final numbers, but since sales stopped Dec. 15, we have to be closing in on a final set of numbers.
There were no sales of American Eagle or Buffalo bullion coins registered. Buyers are focused on 2007.
