The annual U.S. Mint gift catalog teases collectors with a beautiful display of the 2009 Ultra High Relief $20 gold piece. The price is not presently known and the coin will not be available until early next year. The photography, however, is stunning.
What collectors can buy from this year’s catalog, which became available Oct. 27, are many of the popular numismatic basics, including the regular and silver proof sets, the standard uncirculated coin set and such items as four-coin Presidential $1 coin sets.
Coin and dies sets for each of the 2008 quarter issues will be available from both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints.
Choices of American Eagle gold, silver and platinum coins in both proof and uncirculated might not all be available before collectors receive copies of the catalog, but the gift catalog presents them all in appealing visual fashion.
A last push for Bald Eagle commemoratives is also made on the back cover. The catalog notes that the coins will be available until Dec. 12.
Orders received by the Mint by Dec. 8 should be filled in time for Christmas and a special express delivery option allows procrastinators to get orders into the Mint as late as Dec. 15 but still get on time Christmas delivery.
